Job Search Tips: What To Do In The First 30 Days
August 9, 2008 Career Change, Redundancy TrackBack URL

A few weeks back, I wrote an article titled Redundancy Tips: The First 48 Hours which covered some key steps to take within the first 48 hours after redundancy.
My intention was to follow this up with an article on what to do in the first 30 days after losing your job.
But Jason Elba over on the JibberJobber blog has beat me to it with an excellent post based on his own personal experience: Job Search Tips: What I Should Have Done In The First 30 Days
Here is a quick summary of the 10 points Jason suggests you follow in the first 30 days:
1. Get your CV/resume ready
2. Find someone to be accountable to
3. Understand your finances
4. Learn about the relationship you have with recruiters
5. Understand the value of job boards
6. Network, in person
7. Network, online
8. Get prepared for a potentially long search, and a long time without an income
9. Kiss your spouse and kids
10. Sign up to the JibberJobber online tool to help you manage your job search more effectively
