Are You Overqualified for This Job?

You decide to be flexible and start applying for roles with less pay and with less responsibility to start earning and get back into the market. Seems sensible.
But then you keep getting asked that annoying question: “Are you not overqualified for this role..? Will you not be off as soon as the market picks up?”
So how do you handle such a question?
