Career Change, Change & Uncertainty, Redundancy 2 Comments

Every problem, every challenge and every thorn in your side is here to teach you a lesson

And once you learn the lesson, you get to move on.

Fail to learn the lesson (or run away from it) and it keeps coming back in various guises (different people, different situations, different conditions).

Stop Overplanning and Stop Overthinking

Most people have a vague idea about the type of change they’d like to make (even if they never share them with anyone else).

Maybe it’s a new career, maybe it’s a move to a life near the sea or the countryside. Or maybe it’s the dream to become self employed or have a flexible freelance career to create that elusive work-life balance.

But despite these grand plans and very good intentions, many people never get their ideas off ground as they simply overthink things.

Here’s a much faster and more effective solution to these problems:

1. Define meaningful work

Over the last 3 years I’ve published more than 300 articles. But at the same time, there are a further 300 unfinished articles which have never been been published.

Career Change, Job Searching, Networking No Comments

Last month, I published an article titled ‘The 21 Meetings In 21 Days Challenge’ aimed at helping job seekers to dramatically speed up their job search.  The article was subsequenty republished by the banking career site, “eFinancial Careers”

That’s right, 8 new opportunities in 3 weeks created by getting out and meeting people. What’s more, he did it whilst working full time.
