Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Q1. Do I need to be earning “6 Figures” to work with you?

No. I work with people across various levels of experience and earnings.

Q2. I see a lot of your experience is within the financial services and professional services area – do you work with clients from different backgrounds?

In addition to working with bankers, lawyers, accountants and consultants I’ve also worked with HR professionals,  IT professionals, marketing professionals, self-employed freelancers, facilities managers, sales people, client services people, retail managers, social workers, students and back-to-work mums.

So I‘m well versed in working with clients from a range of backgrounds and functions.

Q3. Would you work with clients outside of the UK?

Yes.

I’ve worked with clients in North America, mainland Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia.  So location and geography is not a barrier whatsoever.

Q4. I am looking for work – will you be approaching potential employers and find a role for me?

No.

Whilst I have been a recruiter in the past, I am no longer in the business of marketing and placing you in a role – apart from the very occasional role I may be asked to fill by a corporate client.

However, as my individual clients will tell you, I’m very open in sharing contacts and introducing them to people in my network if I think they may be able to assist them. I don’t operate on any referral fees or affiliate pay backs, so if I refer you to a recruiter, client or contact, it’s because I genuinely think they may be able to assist you.

But let’s be clear – if you’re a job seeker, I won’t be going out there and finding opportunities for you. Instead, I’ll be helping and guiding you to find and secure the right role as fast as we can.

Q5. I am looking for a new job – will you write my resume/CV for me?

No.

I will provide you with feedback, templates, suggested text and all the help you need to produce a targeted resume/CV that stands out from the crowd.

But if you ultimately need someone else to produce the resume/CV for you, I’m happy to refer you to some of the best resume/CV writers in the business who can produce the document for you at your expense.

Q6. Do you only work with clients looking to change jobs or careers?

No, I work with clients with a variety of career-related challenges and goals.

Q7. So if wanted help in making progress within the same job and employer, you can still help me?

Yes.  In addition to working with job seekers and career changers, I work with people wanting to stay in the same job, but with a variety of different objectives:

They may be looking to improve their earnings potential, target a promotion, improve their visibility, better play to their strengths or work less and achieve a better work-life balance.

Q8. I want to start up on my own as an interim manager/consultant /coach/self-employed professional. Am I someone you’d work with?

Yes

In-person Coaching

Q9. I see that your ‘in-person coaching’ takes place in Central London. Would you consider working face to face with clients outside of London? Or outside of the UK? What would the fee structure look like?

Yes, it is something that I would consider. The fee structure would be agreed on a case-by-case basis dependant on the location.

Sital’s Coaching Gym

Q10. How often can I use the coaching gym? I mean, are there a certain number of sessions I’m allowed?

You can use the gym as needed without limit.

Like any normal gym, you’ll be able to use the facilities as much or as little as you like within the parameters described.

And like most gyms, some people visit several times a week whilst others visit less frequently, based on their needs and commitments.  You have the flexibility to use the gym as needed to fit in with your own requirements, schedule and style.

Q11.  What happens if I need to take a break due to work or personal commitments? Am I able to put my membership on hold?

Yes, you can put the membership on hold and ‘stop the clock’ once during a 3-month membership period if required. You can resume as and when you are ready to do so.

Q12. You mention that I’d be able to speak with you when needed by booking a slot in your online diary – how exactly does that work?

You’ll be sent a web link to an online diary system with details of when I’m available for client calls. So whenever you need to speak – click on the link, find a time slot that’s convenient for you and book it. List the best number to contact you on and I will call you at the agreed time.

It’s that’s simple: I’m a complete technophobe – so if I can use it, anyone can!

Q13. But what if I’m in Sydney, Dubai or Mumbai?

I’ll probably be very jealous…..but I’ll still call you. :)

Q14. What about the time difference if I’m in another time zone?

I am regularly available to speak at weekends and have time slots available accordingly. I also have slots available for certain early mornings and evenings, so you should be able to find a diary slot that is convenient regardless of the time zone you’re in.

Q15. Am I able to send some background information before we speak?

Yes. When you book the time slot you’ll be able send some background to the call and attach any relevant documents if you feel it appropriate.

Q16. You say I’ll have access to a range of tools and resources –  what exactly can I expect in the members-only area of your website?

  • Templates – e.g. example resumes, CVs, cover letters etc
  • Sample scripts – to help you network, interview or negotiate more effectively
  • Self-assessment tools – to help you evaluate your strengths, skills, style and preferences
  • Audio and video resources – advice and tips from me via video and audio pod casts
  • Recommended  career resources – my favourite books, websites, blogs, articles
